  • 15 Things

Bleh.  I was tagged by DarkAngelKat00 and purplepixiepoo. Apparently this means I’m supposed to engage in a twisted ritual of revealing 15 things about me that you probably don’t know hence giving all youreaders power over me! Guess I’ll do it. I’m bored anyway.  But no way am I tagging anyone. I don’t like the obligatory feel that tagging creates. Nor do I like things that feel like chainletters. I’m weird like that. However if you are a friend of mine and you read this and want to do your own list of 15 things, be my guest! I’ll happily read your list.

    1. At one point when I was in High School, I had read every Dragonlance book ever published. Then they kept printing more, curse them!

    2. I’ve been playing D&D since I was 12 years old I think only I’ve barely ever played. I’m really still a novice.

    3. I finished at the top of my class in High School, it was the biggest high school in the state, a public school and some of my teachers said our class was the smartest class they’d had in years. Like any of the top 12 students wold have been valedictorians in any other year or something like that.   But I didn’t really deserve to be Valedictorian because I purposefully bombed my Creative Writing class  but my bad grade mysteriously disappeared! O_O!?!?

    4. In college during every year but freshman year I skipped something like 75% of my classes. I was totally depressed most of the time for all 4 years and unmotivated. But I still graduated. My GPA was ass but I graduated. The funny classes were the ones where I got a good grade even though I never showed up! :)

    5. The college I attended was ranked the 4th best school in the country by Forbes, but none of you have ever heard of it. Neither has any interviewer I’ve ever talked to when applying for a job. Go figure.

    6. Soon I will probably be moving into a larger apartment.

    7. I have a scar on the side of my nose that I have no clue where it came from.

    8. I ABSOLUTELY hate and despise POKEMON. If I could rid the world of it I would consider myself as having done the planet a good deed worthy of my legacy.

    9. I’m flat footed.

    10. I’ve never to my knowledge been drunk, intoxicated, buzzed, stoned, or high.  Drinking a red bull or too much coffee makes me want to throw up.  However I guzzle down normal sodas at an alarming rate.

    11. My reading rate has declined so much in recent years that it takes me about 55 minutes to complete a single volume of a manga!

    12. I have a garguntuan Magic:The Gathering collection. Online and offline. It’s worth a lot of money too and I’m seriously considering selling it. My collection started in High School when one of my then best friends who was a kleptomaniac stole some cards and gave me some of them.

    13. My car has a huge dent on the side that has been there for like 4 months and I never bothered  to even get an estimate on how much it would cost to fix. It’s a fully paid off 2006 Mazda 3. I  got the dent when I had an unfortunate run in with a inanimate wall. That wall was out to get me I tell you!

    14.  I have psoriasis that covers my entire head. It drives me near to madness on a regular basis. I just got insurance but the insurance company won’t treat it cuz it’s a pre-existing condition.

    15. When growing up we had a family cat a big fat black creature with eerie green eyes who was as mean as could be. But the cat liked me best and would always fall asleep in my lap letting me pet him and rub him. Recently I saw a grey cat lying on the steps to my apartment that looked exactly like him. My friend suggested that maybe it was the spirit of my old family cat coming back to check on me. The grey color was because he was insubstantial. The thought made me shiver.

    There you go.

  • Do you ever try natural remedies for your psoriasis?

    It must be painful!!!

    x

  • Dragonlance… <3 I first read those when I was about 12. But Dragons of Summer Flame (that’s what it was called, right?) ticked me off because it killed off everyone who wasn’t already dead and banished magic from Krynn and whatever. Argh. I won’t read new additions to the series on the principle of it.

  • I have psoriasis that flares up every now and then…have you tried T-Gel shampoo and conditioner? It helps a lot. I’ve also heard that Dove Moisturizing shampoo/conditioner works wonders, but I just discovered that remedy and haven’t tried it yet. I’ve also heard that Selsen Blue shampoo helps as well.

  • you’re 15 things helped in my procrastination today ^_^ just thought i’d let you know that.

  • Woot, awesome list! :) Thanks for doin it! ^_^

  • wow, that cat thing is creepy! I hope I’m not being stalked by the spirits of dead pets. o.O

  • You know… they’re still making Dragonlance books to this day! lol I had them all in high school too and continued to collect them up until a couple years ago when I just got fed up with all the books taking up valuable shelf space, boxed them up, and sold them to my little brother for $25. Now they’re his problem.

  • i like the interesting tidbits you write about yourself. esp the one about cats. they were pretty entertaining to read and i feel like i get to know you, even though we’ve never met lol.

  • @wherever_we_go - @buckeyegirl31 - Currently I am using aloe-vera shampoo and cream treatment which stops the itching but doesn’t really reduce the scaling. I’ve used T-Gel and Selsen Blue but it didn’t really help that much for me but it was a long time ago when I last tried them. I haven’t tried dove moisturizing shampoo.

  • @nephyo - the dove one I have tried…but i googled psorasis for myself once, and found this home remedy site where everyone said dove products worked the best. I haven’t had a chance to try them to see if works or not.

  • I like pokemon!!  ^_^  I can read a volume of manga in 20 minutes.  ^_^  I was told by a friend that I don’t appericate the art as much as I should, if I did it should take me an hour to read it, so you are going just about as fast as people that should appericate the art should go.  *nods*

  • where is it that you went to college because now that you say i havent heard of it, i am curious- I went to Wake Forest and its ranked pretty highly, not sure about 4th though. And many people havent heard of my school either.  And from reading some of your comments about your 4 years there, I can relate to the depression thing well. – Anyways, just sayin hi and i hope youre havin a good day.

  • it would be interesting if you went to Swat, cause I just visited it like two weeks ago.
    either way, go SWATTies! lol.

  • @fullmetalbunny - yeah I thought dragons of summer flame was kinda lame. But the books that followed featuring a character named Mina were kinda interesting. They have a strong dark religious theme. I haven’t read a dragonlance book in a long time though.

@harmony0stars - yup. I know. Mostly I only ever really liked the mainstream series by Margaret Weis and/or Tracy Hickman. There was an occasional gem by someone else but generally I found them boring.  Most of mine are in storage now.

@Carolina17 - It was a little creepy a thought but not in a bad way. I don’t really mind cat spirits watching over me so long as they mean no harm.

@angrylilgurl - thanks! I hope we get to know each other better through our xangas in the future then :)

@raindrops23 - 20 minutes is FAST! Geez. Honestly though I don’t really “appreciate” the art. I only look at it enough to figure out what’s going on. I do like to read the little tiny effects text when it’s translated, but I have to squint to read it cuz I need new glasses. lol. POKEMON IS EVIL!!!! ^_^

    @wherever_we_go - nope. But I definitely will! Thanks! :)

  • @HOGG1104 - Wake Forest is ranked higher than Cornell but not quite one of the highest. Here’s the list: http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/94/opinions_college08_Americas-Best-Colleges_Rank.html

Rankings really don’t mean anything though. US News and World Reports rankings are entirely different. Both boths lists are all based on silly assumptions about what makes an educational experience good. But I like mentioning it anyway cuz it amuses me. I turned down Princeton anyways even though it’s ranked 1 something about it gave me a really bad feeling when i visited. *shrugs*

@duckling8912 - Professor Schuldenfrei’s Moral Philosophy course is an interesting course. Check it out if you happen to go back there any time in the future.  Mary Lyon dorm is the best cuz that’s where they stick all the crazies like me. ^_^
