Assignment #8: Free write for 15 minutes without stopping; then read
what you’ve written, cross out/make changes where you feel necessary..Assignment #9: Write 5 paragraphs or less. Have a thrilling ending.
Assignment #10: Write a story using the following words: thread, threat.
Assignment #11: Free write for 5 minutes. Don’t change anything after you’re done. And just read.
Assignment #12, 13 & 14: The next three assignments will deal with
an emotion. Basically, this is an exercise to see how well emotions can
be conveyed through words. The three emotions are love, anger, and
surprise. There is no word limit or length. Preferably write in two
paragraphs or lessrianahntr Mentalist_JonesAssignment #15: Just write… don’t think. Take a deep breath. And let
it out. Do it again a couple more times if you must. Close your eyes…
and just start writing. Don’t think; just feel.
Stop when you think it’s time and then, open your eyes. I call this
exercise: “close your eyes and write” [Also, if you think you've made
mistakes, you can correct them after you've written everything you feel
you are]Assignment #16: Write the first place that comes to mind when you think
of the word “home”. Describe this place as much as you can; be verbose!
Think Tolkien-style kind of writing here [but please don't
over-describe] so the word limit is set to a maximum of 500 words.Assignment #17: Write a description of yourself as if you were introducing yourself as a character in a story
This index was created just cuz I’m lazy and want to link to only one place. And so I don’t annoy you all as much.
Please feel free to link to this on your own entries and recommend it or whatever. I
will update this regularly and re-timstamp about once a week if there
have been significant additions or less often if there aren’t. That’s just a warning. You can reply to this entry with links to your entries and that will make my life easier. If you *don’t* want me to list you here. Let me know asap and I’ll remove your links. I’m just trying to make things easier on everyone.
Also consider adding new entries to the Webblog Pool of the BlogRing! That makes it much easier for everyone to browse through everyone’s entries.
Happy Writing!

assignment # 1
Thanks for this. It makes my life way easier.
Feel free to link to any of my stuff man, thanks for creating this things and keeping it going.
Woooow.. This is amazing.
Okay, i’m gonna try it out soon.. Like really really soon.. Haha grrr, now i seriously hate this weekend coz we didn’t get a chance to talk!!!!!!!! Arrrggghhhh!!!!
This is quite groovy of you. I’m just going to link this page from now on with each update.
Grrrrr I want to do this!!!!!
@purplepixiepoo - have at it then!
satanz_fave_daughter is amazing!
Hey, can anyone explain to me how you guys link this page? I am a total loser when it comes to ‘puter language…
@purplepixiepoo - I honestly think my head is growing with all the love I’ve been getting from you! *huggles*
ill work on this eventually. i just have a small bit of reading to do first
@satanz_fave_daughter - Well, i’m glad you’re feeling good because… Anyway, to get something to link… this is how you do it… at the right top of your editor page, you’ll see a button “edit html” click on that.. and then this is the tricky part.. everything will look like a freaky really weird code.. to link me for example.. you write PURPLEPIXIEPOO … Notice that the ones in caps (the purplepixiepoo) is in the middle of two codes.. if you want to change my name, you write for example MY NEW FRIEND RITZ and what will show is the one in caps…
I hope you got that. If you didn’t, i hope you have an aim account? Or a yahoo account so we can chat.. I love you Chuckee..
@satanz_fave_daughter - Hey. Pixie explained how to do a link in html. And that will work. One easier way to do a link is like this:
In a new Blog Entry or Edit Blog:
Highlight and copy the address (URL) of the place you want to link to from the address bar or wherever. In this case the link is:
http://weblog.xanga.com/nephyo/668551696/writing-assignments-index.html
Highlight and press CTRL-C (COMMAND-C on a Mac) to copy.
Now on the blog edit entry highlight the text you want to make into a link.
Then click on the ADD LINK button. I am using firefox and on the Xanga editor I have it is the 4th link from the right on the bottom row of buttons on the editor screen. The icon looks like a Planet with a little chain link underneathe. If you hover over it with your mouse it should say “Add Link”
A popup box should appear that says Enter Link Location with an area to enter text. Paste the link location into the field. Overwrite the text that is already there. Usually this is just a one step proces of Typing CTRL-V (Command-V) to paste the URL you copied.
Click OK
In a Comment Reply to a Blog:
Do the exact same thing except the Add Link icon should be the second one from the right right under Post a Comment ad right next to the smiley link.
That’s pretty much it. Some themes might make the Comment reply window look funy or even remove the Link button. In those cases you have to edit via HTML as Pixie was explaining. Basically click the Edit HTML box. A link in html looks like this:
<a href=”http://weblog.xanga.com/nephyo/668551696/writing-assignments-index.html”>Writing Assignments Index</a>
Replace < with the less than symbol and > with the greater than symbol. I have no idea why I can’t make that actually show up that way in this box but hopefully that will make some sense…
Sorry for the excruciating detail. I hope this helps.
Dude, this needs to be updated: I’m working on #7 now!
@satanz_fave_daughter - I know. Sorry! I wanted to wait until Assignment #18 was created before I did another update and then I’d update everything at once. I don’t want to keep pestering everyone with time stamps updates too often. So I only want to make changes when there’s at least a new assignment or two to add.
@nephyo - Oh. Okay, that makes sense. Didn’t mean to sound pushy or anything..
Ten bucks says those links took forever.
