Favorite Scenes: One of us is more than enough to PWN you!
I recently watched every episode of DOCTOR WHO from the 2005 re-launch to present over the course of four days. That’s four seasons of about 13-15 episodes each specials included.
This series was beautiful. I never watched the original Doctor Who except for a few random glimpses of it when I was a kid so I have no idea if I would like it. But this new series is amazing. I loved it. Each character is clever and interesting and the concepts are creative and fun. I also think it’s rather cool that the series is a continuation, not a remake of the original series which gives it this huge repertoire of prior material to draw upon and build off of. But my favorite parts are the creepy scenes. I love the use of music and sound to build up tension in this series. I like the twists and surprises they build into every turn and how much they connect everything between all the episodes in a season. It’s just overall a very well written series.
My favorite scene of all is neither a surprise nor particularly creepy. Rather it’s just plain hilarious. It’s this classic pissing match between two classic villains of the series. Words cannot describe the awesomeness. So here it goes:
What do you think? Any other Doctor Who fanatics out there? What are your favorite scenes?

I’ve been meaning to check out that entire series forever now. I have two Doctor Who fans for you on xanga: kamikaze_zealot and Mr.Faust. Kamikaze_zealot has a ton of really cool Dr.Who icons.
Any scene with David Tennant in it.
You haven’t lived until you’ve watched Doctor Who with a terrified child sitting next to you …
(terrified of the monsters, obviously; not terrified of sitting next to you)
Doctor Who works because it’s cheesy, fun, emotional, terrifying and superb early Saturday evening family entertainment. The romantic undertones are nice too. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, yet in a way it’s very serious. And nothing, in any universe anywhere, can match the Daleks for scariness.
It’s British TV at its best.
i have soooooo many fave scenes! but, i must admit my most favorite of all (from the 2005 relaunch) is a tie between Jack clinging to the outside of the Tardis in “Utopia” and Rose totally disentigrating all of the Daleks with her Tardis-charged super badass awsomeness in The “Parting of Ways” – oh, and then there’s the scene from Planet of the Ood where that guy turns into an Ood. it was great!
I havent read any of vonneguts books yet, but ive heard great things and im so excited to get my paycheck and buy a few.
Yes, it works amazing. It is a Rx drug. Most people who use it lose up to 20 lbs in 2 months. The side effects are mainly those associated with taking an upper.
My favorite scene was the end of “Logopolis,” when The Doctor regenerated from Tom Baker to Peter Davison. Baker’s whispered last line was nothing short of beautiful: “It’s the end . . . but the moment has been prepared for.”
@chocolatescifi - yes yes yes! that scene. it was just… it was perfect. i for one was glad to see the end of tom baker. his eyes…. that stare of his… they really creep me out.
