Talking to Myself on the way to work today
“The universe is a cold and dark place. Snap your fingers and create a little light.”
“Funny how I never learned how to snap my fingers.”
“If you can save one life then you can save ten thousand.”
“And if you can save ten thousand, you probably can’t save one. And then the ten thousand get pissed at you and beat you to death for your failure.”
“So cynical! Even if you can’t succeed you can find peace in the striving right? Life depends on striving, hard work, due diligence and the likes.”
“You do realize a hole to nowhere dug quickly and efficiently still leads nowhere?”
“Doesn’t mean it doesn’t serve a purpose.”
“Sure. You can always bury yourself in it.”
“You know there’s plenty of blame to go around.”
“Yup. 99.999% belongs to me and the other 0.001% split equally amongst all other parties involved is undoubtedly sufficient to make them happy.”
“When you write, you have to write with your heart. Everything else is just words on paper.”
“pfft. I haven’t used *paper* for any serious writing since I was 16. I use a computer and I don’t print it out.”
“You know what I mean. Lights on a screen if you’d like. What I mean is emotions are the key to meaningful writing. Analytical drivel is forgotten ten minutes after it is read. Real writing actually means something to someone.”
“Look using your heart is like using a processing program that returns 1 and 0 with equal probability and no equation that can predict which is going to turn up next. I don’t need a heart. I have a CPU.”

sooooooo wut i wanna kno iz did you walk drive or tayk a bus
Thats a pretty good self-convo.
@pansybradshaw - drove. it was less than a ten minute drive too. I’m thinking of trying walking to work some day, see how i like it. Cheaper and more environmentally conscious.
im wunderin if it will giv you more or less to talka bout & im not tryin to be rude eyther i just rekall talkin to myself a grate deel wen i did dryve which wuzza long tyme ago inna galxy far far away since walkin/biking thangz hav chaynjd thot wyze not better or werse just difrent
I wish talking to yourself was socially acceptable in public. D:
Sounds like some of the conversations I’ve had with myself.
@pansybradshaw - hmm. probably less. it’s too much time. I’d get so sick of hearing myself talk to myself that tensions would rise and then I’d get into a fight with myself and then we’d give each other the silent treatment.
@KuyaD - ha. if that were the case I probably wouldn’t want to do it anymore.
You should be impressed with yourself, really. Both of you made some valid points.
And holes can always be turned into in-ground swimming pools. At least, that’s what my philosophy was when I was 3. And it still is kind of my philosophy, really…
@nephyo - hahahahahahahahaha not laffin @you but givin yerself the sylint treetmint iz priceless
DOWN WITH PAPER ITS TEH LAME
I like you # 2. You #1 sounds like some one with a lot of inspirational posters and plaques in their house.
P.S. With a head set, it is social acceptable to talk to yourself in public.
But what if we have to reboot?
I talk to myself at times, especially in the car.
“I must hold in balance the sense of futility of effort and the necessity of struggle; the conviction of the inevitability of failure and still the determination to ‘succeed’ — and, more than these, the contradiction between the dead hand of the past and the high intentions of the future. If I could do this through common ills — domestic, professional and personal — than the ego would continue as an arrow shot from nothingness to nothingness with such force that only gravity would bring it to earth at last.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald totally knows your struggle.
On a tangential note, you don’t hand write anything? I find it entirely impossible to do any good writing staring at a computer screen. I hand write nearly everything before I type it up.
@pansybradshaw - ^_^
@ModernBunny - indeed. You lead the revolution! I’ll be right behind you with the pitchfork and torches!
@iuv23 - clever strategy. Maybe I should walk around with one of those bluetooth ear pieces perpetually in my ear. Honestly, both me’s get on my nerves, I can’t say I have a preference.
@CarmenDeBizet - ha! I wish I could reboot. It would Clear all my memory of a lot of garbage slowing down my system.
@elvesdoitbetter - Oh if only I had Fitzgerald’s mastery of words, then my arguments with myself would undoubtedly be much more entertaining (and publish-worthy). No I don’t write on paper. Most of my writing is already 90% written in my head before I sit down to type it up and then it just flows. My hand writing ias attrocious and I write by hand really slowly so honestly I couldn’t wait to leave the pen and paper behind. On very rare occassion I’ve written on paper journal entries or dream logs but only in circumstances where I was away from a computer or felt the need to write something quick before I forgot it.
