Makes one wonder if the image that we’ve had in the world as America and Americans and the standards we’ve held ourselves to on a national level in respect to other nations have created this sort of sordid emotional and psychological underbelly wherein people who believe they are doing things to contribute to the overall good are willing to forsake other moral obligations to accomplish that and may even take pleasure in it. It’s sick. Did they never take a moment and reflect on what they were doing?
